Whitefish Montana Vacation Aug 2011

The Mountain is beautiful and the company is great. We are so grateful for Pam and Doug to share their beautiful condo with our family for our annual family gathering, thank you!! We have had an adventure each day. We have all gone down the Alpine slide and it turned out to be the only day that it rained. Luckily for us it was after we were done and back at the condo. Yesterday the 6 kids did the 6 zip line tour. They had a great day and Grandpa and I watched the 5 grandkids. I was grateful we did not have two sets of twins ourselves as we had a 6 year old, two 3 year olds and an 8 month old and a 4 month old. It was fun but busy. The boys all took a morning and went on a mountain bike ride for a few hours with only one flat tire. One day we went shopping in the cute stores in the old town of whitefish. The most memorable part of that was in one shop Kevin was commenting on a dress that he does not care for on women because it is tight at the bottom and balloons in the middle section. The gentlemen behind the counter said "I am a cross dresser and I have that dress, but I have long legs so I can pull it off". haha You would have never guessed looking at him. We had a good chuckle. That night after dinner a few of us girls ran down to town again to hit up the farmers market that is every tues. evening. There have been movies at night and kids scooter riding also. Another fun activity was making paper airplanes and flying them off the balcony and every night before bed Grandpa and I take the grand kids to our room and read a book to them. They are books we bought for the trip so they had never seen them before. I think their favorite was "The Pout Pout Fish". Then we have family prayer and send the kids to bed. We are not done with our trip.....tomorrow is Jet skiing at Lake Whitefish. Oh ya, we went there last sat too and had a great day on the beach making sand castles and water ways filling them with water from the buckets. We had a few kids on the beach join in with the kids and grandkids on the fun. Good times. Today Scott and Casey took their boys for another run down the Alpine slide....ending up with Jackson crashing with his mom and then they switched kids and Jackson went with his Dad who promised not to crash and guess what....they crashed! Scott, Casey and Jackson came back with road rash from the impact. Casey crashed where the photographer was not able to get it but we got good shots from him of Scotts. Poor guys! We went to church here last Sunday but after church while we were just minding our own business in the condo a wasp attacked Paul on the back of his neck and then got Dave in the same place. They are both sensitive to a bee sting so we kept an eye on them. They are not allergic but they have never been stung close to the neck and they usually swell up pretty bad. They both went on benadryl and luckily they are all on the mend. Daves got as big as a softball. Not bulging out that big but it was hard and red. In the past they have both been put on an antibiotic from bee stings. We did get another one in the house but luckily Casey heard it and I smacked it when it landed on the window but it fell into the floor vent. I did get the tweezers out (thanks to Caseys idea) and get it out and finished that pesky critter.
Update: Jet skiing went great. We rented two for half a day. The place we rented them from let us use the pool and hot tub as well. It was a perfect day (except Paul was not feeling too well, sore throat and fever. Riann came down with it too but it was just a 24 hour bug luckily). Saturday was a free for all and we all ended up in different areas. Paul and his family took the lift up and hiked the rest of the way and then missed the ride down and had to hike it but they loved it and got good pictures. Scott and his family took the boys to the river to toss sticks in. Amie needed to shop so Dave and I went with her to town. Kevin slept. haha
